Formant tuning for high notes
When a high note feels blocked, pushing harder is often less useful than adjusting the vowel slightly.
Why vowels change in high notes
As pitch rises, harmonic positions rise too. A vowel that feels easy in speech may not place resonance near the useful harmonics in a high note.
What to watch
Check whether H3 and H5 disappear when the note gets difficult. If a tiny vowel change brings them back without throat pressure, it may be a better strategy.
Keep it small
Do not change the word so much that the lyric disappears. Start with tiny shifts between ah, uh, and oh.
Try it in the analyzer. Capture the graph, then compare it with a reference example or your next attempt.
